The roughest weather we’ve encountered so far was crossing the gulf stream. With a cold front sweeping across the stream we had 30-40kts from the SE so our sailing angle plus the current would have kept us in the stream for days. We chose to motor sail through totally disorganized seas, taking breaking waves over the dodger. The next morning we had very confused seas but we were able to shut off the motor and sail towards Bermuda. Squalls and lots of rain greeted us in Bermuda.
