Six months after the original mockup had been torn down, Lyman-Morse mocked up the cockpit and hard dodger area. Working with Chuck Paine and JB Turner the design was further refined, lowering the hard dodger, improving the leads to the winches, adjusting the height of the coamings, and a dozen other minor changes. The staff at Lyman-Morse would bring out the saws and screw guns and an hour later we could consider the change. With the two helm arrangement we would make changes to the port side, then compare them to the original design on the starboard side. We returned to this mockup many times over the next six months.
